Those early years were at Katherine Smith Elementary in Houston.  I graduated from G.C. Scarborough Jr.-Sr. High School in 1978.  Next I received a B.B.A. in Accounting at Texas A&M University in 1982.    In 1989 I completed my M.B.A. in Information Systems at Georgia State University.

Career

Immediately after graduation, I moved to Honolulu, Hawaii to work with local CPA firm. After nearly two years to get certified (CPA that is) I moved to Washington, D.C. to work for EDS (back when Ross Perot was in command).  This move put me into the world of computers,  programming, tech stuff...  After a few years of traveling the country with EDS and moved on to MCI in Arlington, Virginia.  After a small stint with MCI, I decided Atlanta, Georgia was the place to be.  That was 1986.  I moved to Atlanta to work for another software company called American Software.  With them, I spent most of my time in Europe working on various localization issues so the software would handle commerce between countries that belonged to the European Economic Community (EEC).   As opportunities arose, I moved on to Marcam Solutions and now I work for PeopleSoft.

I love paying music.  All kind.  I occasionally play in a blues band in Atlanta, Georgia.  The guys and I play together in a makeshift studio in a Midtown house.  The home theatre system in the study upstairs makes it great watch movies at home.  I love to travel and see new places and old places that I've been before.  Europe is a favorite place for me.  I've been many times and plan visit more.  In fact, the stamps in my passport filled up before it expired!!

Music & Movies

I like all kinds of music.  I think every style has its unique qualities.  I still listen to a lot that was recorded during the 70's.  I think that decade was the best.  My favorite movie changes often.  Here's a few that come to mind: Titanic, American President, The Fugitive, Mr. Smith Goes To Washington.... The list goes on.  Basically, I like Jimmy Stewart, Michael Douglas, Harrison Ford in most movies.

Books

I read a lot of American history.  I like the colonial times the best.  I'm a real fan of the life of Thomas Jefferson.  I love going to Monticello and hanging around the Virginia mountains.  The B&Bs there are special.  I also enjoy Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia.   I've read all four novels and 57 short stories written about Sherlock Holmes.   I love reading mystery.  Lately I've been just able to stay current with the magazines that come to the house.

If you ever need a restaurant suggestion, I'll gladly help.  I love Italian food in Tuscany, Chinese food in London, and hearty Bavarian food in the Alps.  I've been fortunate to travel and experience many types of food.  I'm making a list of all the places I would recommend from the years for travel I've experienced.  More to come...

By the way, that's me eating sushi... I love sushi.
