Stephanie's Birthday

Charlottesville & Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia

Stephanie's birthday is also Bailey's birthday.  Bailey is now eight years old.  She got a play Birthday cake and a pig's ear to chew on for her birthday.

We woke up early and Stephanie opened her first birthday present.  It was the DVD of My Dog Skip, one of her favorite movies.  Next, we caught a flight to Richmond.  After getting a rental car and driving to Charlottesville, we stopped at the Michie Tavern to enjoy lunch.  After lunch, Stephanie received a pearl bracelet Birthday present.

Next, we toured Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's home.  It was just across the road from the Michie Tavern.  The day was cold and the clouds had settled over the mountain top.  There were no crowds at all so the tour was easy to manage and later we walked around the grounds looking at the gardens and the gravesite of Thomas Jefferson.

Then we drove to the B&B to check in.  It was called the Inn At The Crossroads, just a few miles south of Charlottesville in Albemarle County.
